Mask of morning fog
Covers the rays of breaking sun
Mask of a smile
Covers the residue of broken dreams

Disguises both ways
Distorts what may be
A manipulated state so real you’ll believe

The sun still shines just not in our eyes
The residue of pain not healed
Switch the perception
View from a new side
Then see the truth
That these masks don’t reveal
