The meadow was ours,
As was the day
The sky, a vast sea of blue
Still breeze soothed the confronting heat,
Mirage of summer shone through

Sunday, snail paced
Chilled wine held in hand,
Passing the hours away
When gifting the sky sudden colors pastel,
A spectators´ spectacle displayed

T’was the sun casting down to the waiting land,
A parting of beauty with grace
Softly she set behind a hill,
When you gently caressed my face

As if to say thank you for sharing my world,
And our private picnic today
Hand in hand in lovers bliss,
Till the moon came up, we laid

Oh isn’t this nice! I love that the sky is also “sea”, and “confronting heat” is wonderful; and love “mirage”. Lovely scene you’ve painted for us.
