A random thought while vacationing in Northern Italy this past week.
How do you tend to your garden?
Is it how you tend your life?
Is it wild and free to grow as pleased,
Or is it manicured with pride
Do you prefer mixed flowers colors,
Or rather yards of stone
Do you garden with someone
As a team,
Or rather all alone
Are there trees planted to give you shelter,
From the summers heat
Or soft grass open with expectant joy,
Of sunshine you may greet
Are there hammocks, lounges,
A table and chairs,
For which you can relax
Or do you get all anxious when,
Someone treads your grass
Do you have fences or maybe shrubs of green,
To keep the nature out
Or an open hose that drips fresh water,
For the thirst,
Of Gods critters about
Is your life like your garden?
A peek from your window,
Just may tell your style
Do you live trimmed and manicured,
Or are you free, running wild?
Comforting the afflicted / Afflicting the comfortable . . .

Wow. This poem really gives me something to think about. I love how the garden becomes a metaphor for life. I strive to be free and running wild. Well, not too wild. Can I reblog this on my other blog? Too great not too.

Take time out to visit my friend Heather Rheingold over at The Starting End. I love reading her poems because they are provocative and they touch the heart. So I’m sharing this one with you and go over and let her know your thoughts.

That was very thoughtful and lovely. I think some days my garden is meant for sharing. Other days, I prefer to be alone.
