My hearts been living homeless, just waiting around for you
It’s been in and out of shelters, from abuse, that’s nothing new
It hates the cold but bares the rain,
Of teardrops falling, lost love again
“Homeless Heart, I hear him coming”,
I feel new warmth run up my spine
“What do you say we trust this one,
And pray that all be fine?”
“I’m getting older now and quite run down”,
Homeless Heart then said to me
“But I still need a place to call my own,
Where love finds harmony”
“I’m so full with all that hearts can give,
This road’s so long, and I am tired”
“I want to nestle into caring arms,
That place that we all desire”
His hand lifts up to brush the piece
Of hair that’s in my face,
Back of his hand, he strokes my cheek,
Gently, filled with grace
His soft voice spoke no promises,
So nothing could be broke
He spoke of wishes, hopes and dreams,
It was then, Homeless Heart awoke
Heart raced, became overwhelmed with heat,
Asked “Oh my, am I sick?”
“Why no, not at all, this is very good,
You’ve just never felt like this”
“It is love you are feeling of the purest kind,
Rejoice,
You’re no longer alone”
He pulled me close, eyes confirming my wish
My heart now has a home
