I knew from the second with my first morning breath,
That my body has woken up sick
It has had enough of my mind playing games,
Undue stress that wreaks it havoc
Don’t you realize what you do from day to day?
I’m shutting you down from these head games you play
Now you must rest ‘cause I’ve taken control,
We’re staying in bed, I’ve got you on hold
I gave you the signal when I felt run down,
On the receiving end of your thoughts
I asked you to give up the party last eve,
But you pushed on, once again, did you listen?
Naught.
We’re all getting kind of tired in here,
Mr. Heart and Miss liver, too
Save your weekends for warrior
Till then, bid the weeknights adieu
Shame that again I’ve shut you down,
I’ve been doing it since you’re young
Lack of sleep and vitamins,
One big mix of stress and fun
They say stress kills, believe it’s so,
That expression didn’t come from the sky
Stop running away, take the bull by the horns,
In a few days I’ll see, that the fevers not high
Can you listen now, listen from now on?
Slamming you down’s, not really fun
But you know it’s me that teaches the lesson,
When you, won’t listen to anyone
Now before we climb back under the covers,
Grab a book, go make us a tea
Know that I love you with body and soul
And am just doing right, for both you and me.
Oh well, every now and then we have to listen to somebody, even if it is our own body 😉
Happy Friday, all!
