A_love_in_chains_by_earth_bound_angel
You tease me like the sun
On an overcast cloudy day
Touching me so quickly,
Before going again away

I will answer all your questions,
You will get inside my brain
You will make me think your way,
I will love you just the same

I will follow all your footsteps,
Zig zag, so very wide
Let you lead me all around,
Losing dignity and pride

You will waste my time for profit,
I will use my time for you
The checks and balance don’t add up,
You’ll convince me that they do

The sadist and the masochist,
The egoist and martyr
Opposite poles of personality,
Fulfilling needs against the other

Call me up to say hello,
But you haven’t got the time
Tell me to be grateful that,
For me you’ve dropped a dime

You flourish in my pain,
I flourish in it too
Your wants, my needs,
Yours first, mine last
Alternative love, for us is true

Here Up High

Castle_On_The_Hill_by_MarxALot67

Perched high up above,
Your house bought with a view
Outside of these walls,
There’s nothing to do

So you sit and you look
As the day turns to night,
This 24 hour view of your life

There are no city lights
To go out under to stroll,
A café for a coffee
With a friend who would call

To greet you with energy,
A smile, a glance
Anything to not
Give this loneliness a chance

All you see, all you have,
Are the seasons that change
Here the Summer turns Winter,
In between, crying rain

The only thing passing
Are your days up here high,
Caged in a home
As your time slips on by

And a world that you know,
That you’ve lived does exist,
So why do you let
This monotony persist

As the Queen of a Castle,
Midst of no man’s land
Sitting with so
Much time on your hands

To dream of your past
Till the sun starts to set
To wish and to want
The years you once spent

When life was alive
With a hint of a sin,
So much choice what to do,
Just where to begin

A play, a museum,
Boat ride on the sea
Sunday brunch out with friends
That first gets lively by 3

I sit here today
In a faraway land
Feeling so terribly misplaced,

Instead of going back
To the world I crave most
I’m swallowed up, in my lonely,
High view space

Your Warm Body

gom

Until that time
Again or in a dream,
Your soothing sounds
I will hear
In the most turbulent times
I’ll be stronger, as
Your song plays in my ear

The shine of the moon
Reflected
As silk, on you last night
As you came closer,
You held  my gaze
As you surged with all your might

As if to ask me
Here to stay,
To lay down by your side
Not to ever go away,
Rather here, in your tide
To hide

This morning you receded
When you knew I had to leave,
And then I heard your sadness,
As you cried with crashing grief

I went back to say good bye again,
When in fact it was for me,
Wanting to be near you,
Your warm body
Once more
To see

I tried to hold you
As you kissed my toes,
But you rolled away
You came back, caressed me,
Left again
As I sunk inside with pain

To live as one with you,
For now it just can’t be
But your memory will light
The darkest days I see

The warmth I felt
While floating together,
Like new birth, I can’t let go
Know that I’ll come back to you,
My sensuous Gulf
Of Mexico

If you gave me just a moment
Between now and evermore,
I’d start by choosing now,
My heart to open up and pour

Out to you my many thanks
Of just being by my side
The pillar of strength you are for me,
You just don’t recognize

If you’d give me just one moment
Of silence next to you,
Sole beating of my heart would tell
How in love I am with you

For loving me the way I am
Though unsure with my lifes way,
How I doubt myself, confuse my world,
But by me you still stay

If you let me have the choice,
How long your moments
Could be mine,
I’d choose forever and a day
And love you for that time

For You, My Daughter

girl-walking-alone
Dream big, I ask
It costs not a thing
Dare to see
Yourself as something

Trust that you’re worthy
Intelligent, bright
Believe that you can
Take control of your life

Fear not you’re alone
In the world for one day
I’ll be here to catch you
As your net I will stay

Safely distant but invisibly near
As you gather confidence
To fly away
From here

This step from Child to Woman is now
Yesterday, so far away,
When you stopped crawling, began to walk
Stopped babbling and Mommy you’d say

Take flight, my Beauty
You’ve made me so proud
My love still grows every day
This step is the hardest for me as well
….I silently wish you would stay

I love you

A Recognized Gift

reflection5
I see where I’ve been, let it remain vivid,
A reminder not to go back
To the past, where I was a visitor,
Of the darkness where lifes light lacked

There where my tears would rage like the storm,
That join Ocean and sky as one
There where the horizon is no longer seen,
From downpour of pain, lost sun

So deep we grow from lessons of sorrow
With time, a recognized gift
To have felt so intense, the agony and pain
Our soul once lost and adrift

We bounce back, yes we do,
Our compassion is found,
With new appreciation for life
Our troubles that hung
In the rip tides current,
Now Free from woes and strife

Through pain we learned joy,
Of the simplest kind
From the lows, we found a new height
Perspective of life has altered us now
Lending strength, optimistic might

So catch my tears you may not,
For they no longer fall
Lift me up you may not,
I’m already there from an intimate time,
Alone spent with my soul

I rehearse this daily in my mind,
Rehearse without whisper of sound
How I’ve come to be grateful,
Strangely thankful,
That this Life of mine,
Once had me down

-Only though the lows, can we truly meet our Soul. Love, H.

It’s so nice you came to hear me say,
Just a small bit about my day
The one with 24 hours I had,
Spent 9 of them sleeping
Is that real bad?

When I woke this morning and these feet hit the ground,
What are you kidding? No speed of sound!
I haplessly carried the weight of my head,
To the kitchen for coffee and then back to bed
To sip it in quiet and take just an hour,
Before shocking my system with a cold water shower
Ha! Not cold, are you joking me?
I hope you don’t take me so literally!

It was warm and gentle, slow and steady,
God knows how much time I need till I’m ready,
To face the day that is now hitting Noon
And midafternoon coffee that’s coming up soon
I thought and I planned as the hours got thinner,
Right up until I was cooking dinner

I thought “Sun are you tired?”, I looked out its BLACK!
Ooops, a quarter to ten, can you imagine that!!!
The day is long gone and the night has set in,
All those hours slipped past me again!

So I’m glad you came by to read of my day
Progress zero,
But the coffee was great!

—–Whew that felt good to change the pace:) Love, H.

A Perfect Rain

Don’t just blow the clouds through the air,
The tall meadows flat, old leaves through your breeze
Spring song of the wind, sing to me
That one you speak with such beautiful ease

Blow through my mind and clear out my thoughts,
Of the stresses of the day
For the clarity I sought,
When I woke up today thinking all would be calm,
Till the bustle of life had left me wrong

Don’t just rain for the thirst of the flowers,
For the birds to bathe in your glorious shower
I’ll stand here naked, pour down on my skin
Wash away tension,
I can no longer
Hold in

Let me join in the reason, you’re here today
To cleanse and to nourish, the path on your way
For I am here too, please don’t oversee
I’m here at your mercy for inclusion of me

You’ve charge on past making way for the warmth,
Allowing nature, its next step,
For the sun to burst through
In a fresh deep sky blue,
Soaked, I now pray,
My troubles have left

A personal side of me as a guest blogger article I wrote for A Opinionated Man on his Harsh Reality blog. It is a small snip of my life being an Adoptee. If adoption has touched your life or if you have ever been curious about it, I hope you will have a read. Much love, Heather

Temporary Insanity

Ahh, To pack it all up
And just go and leave,
Trade this nothing for everything today!
Or will I be trading everything I am,
For nothing of value this way?

To run from this nowhere
To everywhere,
Present, put behind and be gone!
Or will I be leaving everywhere,
For nowhere that I belong

Where is thought
Without intuitions guide,
And born instinct
Not knowing its way?
How do we know if it’s here we belong,
Continue searching or contently stay

Is it temptatious lust that pulls us there?
An argument can be exchanged
Or a Temporary insanity, where tomorrow,
 I won’t want a change

For now I’ll let the evening pass,
Let Intuition, Instinct rest
They have been my dearest friends
In life, my very best

I trust tomorrow they’ll be back
With answers by my side
Hasty thoughts of a this runaway,
Temporarily denied

Until That Day, I Will

Today I will see and not just look
I will listen, not just hear
I will talk rather than just say.

Today is the day, I find a new way

Today I will walk
With my feet on the ground,
Without my head,
Lost in the clouds

I will feel the earth,
My balance, as
My Being
Tomorrow I will practice the same
And the days after to come

Until that day
When my Being, is
My balance
When my words are my wisdom
When I hear with my heart
When I see with my soul
When life is my love
Until that day, I will

Blame

Posted by Heather's Starting End on June 17, 2014
Posted in: life, poem, poetry, society. Tagged: a better world, blame, hope, life, misplaced blame, politics, society. 22 Comments

My thoughts dry up faster than the ink on the paper
Do I blame the pen?
I missed the wind when I cast my sail too late
Do I blame the wind?
The world is in turmoil
Do I blame one Man?

Just how weak we are when we use blame as a tool
Judgment, critique, a pedestal for fools
Who have never composed, sailed on a lake
Or ruled a Country, for Heaven’s sake

Trial and error with lessons learned
Is all we should seek, all we should yearn
Pride in attempts to perfect our plan
Because we can’t blame the pen, wind or the Man
For our empty heads or a changing wind,
A clash of politics or religious sins

I had a very bad experience this weekend that left me highly questioning the placement of blame in the world we live in. Hence, this thought was born. If we could replace blame with hope, perhaps once we could see a better day? Wishing you all a bit of the beauty and love out there this week.

The Day Your Eyes Spoke

It was a walk hand in hand,
Unspecific in time,
A stroll on a day
Without reason or rhyme

Nothing was thought,
Nothing was said,
We shuffled our feet
On the road slow ahead

It was simple, relaxed
When our eyes, they met
A moment I’ve never,
Felt as of yet

Your eyes said you’d love me,
Forever and a day
Your lips didn’t move,
There was nothing to say

A fleeting moment of truth,
A moment fleeting in time,
A nonchalant walk
When I learned you were mine

It can be that easy, t’was shown today
All that we seek,
Just a quick glimpse away.

Tangle My Hair!

The sun and the moon I will see,
Are the same that I see here,
On the hills of green rise and set,
But there is where turquoise waters are met

There’ll be dolphins at play,
Not cows in the field
Toes in the sand
Instead of sneakers, high heels

Fish for every,
Wine for two
Nature plays music
And paints the skies too!

I’m leaving home to go home,
Leaving here to go there
A long haul flight,
An uncomfortable chair

It really won’t matter, jet lag and all,
The price and the time,
In the beach chair I’ll fall

My mind will be empty,
I’ll be smelling salt air
Let the breeze and the water,
Tangle my hair!

Soon a good-bye,
Hello, sun on my face!
I’ve missed you so dearly,
“My special place”

Saturday afternoons thoughts caught up on the thrill and disbelief that I will soon be home 🙂

Smiles in Voices

sun_lightning_2
I try to see the thunder
When hearing’s not enough,
I can feel the lightning bolt
When my eyes are tightly shut
But,
I cannot feel the light
When come memories so dark,
Though
I cannot see the storm
When the sun shines in my heart
As,
When I see smiles in the voice
When family calls Home
And feeling love around me
Even when I’m all alone
So,
Let it rain, let it pour
Mix it all up on a plate,
Life can serve me challenges
Love always dominates
