Time begins to tick
I want more road to travel-
Distance till the end

It’s so nice you came to hear me say,
Just a small bit about my day
The one with 24 hours I had,
Spent 9 of them sleeping
Is that real bad?
When I woke this morning and these feet hit the ground,
What are you kidding? No speed of sound!
I haplessly carried the weight of my head,
To the kitchen for coffee and then back to bed
To sip it in quiet and take just an hour,
Before shocking my system with a cold water shower
Ha! Not cold, are you joking me?
I hope you don’t take me so literally!
It was warm and gentle, slow and steady,
God knows how much time I need till I’m ready,
To face the day that is now hitting Noon
And midafternoon coffee that’s coming up soon
I thought and I planned as the hours got thinner,
Right up until I was cooking dinner
I thought “Sun are you tired?”, I looked out its BLACK!
Ooops, a quarter to ten, can you imagine that!!!
The day is long gone and the night has set in,
All those hours slipped past me again!
So I’m glad you came by to read of my day
Progress zero,
But the coffee was great!
—–Whew that felt good to change the pace:) Love, H.
Calendars and clocks,
Your Friend or foe?
Can’t take them with you
Or catch them,
They go
Can you take off your watch and let time be
Forget knowing the day
Live life
Now and free
Are you controlled and run
By the hands of the clock
In a race
You can’t win
Behind arms that tic-tok
Desperately chasing the seconds of day
Not recognizing
Memories
In the making to stay
Forgetting to live
In the moment of now
Missing when it’s gone
Not knowing how
You didn’t see time
When it was there
Never really being
All too aware
You watch the calendar and check the clock
When your chance for life has already knocked
It’s here right now
It’s at your door
Don’t wait thinking
They will give you more
Opportunity, luck, money
Or love
In a time slot or day
You can’t place the above
Stop watching the time
Don’t plan it ahead
Or It’ll surge right past you
And you’ll miss life instead
How do we break down a day
How does it add up to a life
At times a day is forever
Glad to bid the sun farewell
Joyful times a day knows no end
Our sun seems to shine forever
Just why are the darkest hours the longest
Is it sadness weighing the hands of time?
Why the happiest are so short, almost hard to grasp hold of
Ticking as we chase it from behind
Does a happy life go by quicker?
Is a sad life slower to come to an end?
When we rise and we retire to the same Sun
Just how can our clocks be so different then
