The Daily Post Writing challenge for today.
Before you, retreat with sadness
Tell me what is troubling you
Don’t assume that I won’t listen
Rest assured I surely will
I am ready, to be your shoulder
Understand, I’ll do my best
It’s out of love I’m here for you
Seek your solace, so you can rest
Have faith in me, please don’t turn cold
Trust in me, your heart of gold

Beautifully Written Heather. 🙂
I think most are frightened to knock on that door, to ask someone to truly listen, with ones ears and heart. So many listen with the ears, but don’t truly hear the meaning. Placing yourself in anothers position is not allways the answer. To understand their position, and the person themself, to feel their aches and pains, then you have truly listened. If we all just have even one person like that in our life, you are very fortunate.

A wonderfully thought out comment, Dennis. Thank you for the time. Please check the link at the bottom. That will lead you to the 30 day poetry “course” given here by the Daily Post. I do hope you will give it a try 🙂 It is fun to see where our minds go when given a prompt!!!!
